An Update

I know I've been MIA for the past few weeks and I apologize for not updating y'all on what I got going on! I've been given a very unique and special opportunity that requires basically all of my time, focus, as well as an absurd amount work ethic. Although I cant discuss the specifics of this project I will say it's in the music industry and requires all the skills I've learned in art and business. I'm very grateful for this opportunity and I cant wait to share it with everyone when the time is right. Absolutely love what I'm doing right now and of course I'm crushing it. With that being said I'll be taking a break from my own personal art. I'll still be accepting commissioned work and selling work, but I'll be doing so on a request only basis. If you're interested in either of these shoot me an email: me@kylemosher.com. Follow me on Twitter and Facebook to keep up with what I gots' going on!

Moving to New York City

So....after much thinking, planning, and stressing these last few weeks I just got some  killer news from my homie and music extro-din-aire, Brady Watt. All is good and confirmed and I'll be moving in with him in NYC. I know eventually I'll land in my dream location, LA, but this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to live and create magic with a long time friend. Cant wait to meet new people, face new challenges, and of course the potential new opportunities that are out there. Cannot thank everyone enough that I met along the way in Boston. Shout out to everyone that supported and held it down. Too many to name, but you know who you are. To everyone that's in New York City.....I'm coming! Hit me up! Let's get weird!

I'll be moving to NYC Sept. 1ish. Living with my homies Brady Watt and Chris Devito. #Epic #Creation #Real #Weird

Video Posts

Going to start keeping video entries of all my thoughts and ideas. They'll be available on my website and my Youtube channel and of course I'll be posting them via my social media accounts. I'm so bad at communicating my thoughts and ideas let alone writing them. So this will hopefully be more effective in communicating what I'm thinking and what I got going on. The first post will be about this mixtape I'm dropping. #StayUpStayTuned

Releasing a Mixtape

I’m going to be releasing a mixtape in the coming weeks of songs that have inspired and motivated me over the course of the last five years. These songs are/were essentially the soundtrack to my life and are still staples in my weekly musical rotation. Whether it was working late nights at a shitty retail job, waking up early to create art before work, or just daydreaming of making it big these songs pushed me to work harder, dream bigger, and make things happen. I’ll also be dropping artwork to accompany this mixtape. At the very least I hope that these songs will inspire and motivate you guys as much as they did me. Keep dreaming and go get the world and everything in it.

Yeezus is not College Dropout

I think Yeezus is brilliant. Complex beat compositions, progressive forward thinking music, and the perfect anti-radio album. For anyone looking for College Dropout, this isn't it. That album is 10 years old and Ye' is 10 years older. Yeezus was made to push the limits of hip-hop. If you're not progressing as an artist and doing the same thing you were doing 10 years ago people have already forgotten about you. Kanye has already ruled the air waves, 20 million records sold and ruled the Grammys, 21 of them to be exact including 4 for College Dropout alone. More Grammys then any other rapper. He's been there and he's done that. If you're looking to "pop bottles" and "ball out" with your cronies this isn't the album for you. You can find those songs on just about any rapper's resume now-a-days, but Ye' isn't every rapper. He's Yeezus. It's no secret how influenced by Kanye I am both personally and artistically. I listen to his full catalog on repeat weekly.  With that being said.....

My one complaint is he should've kept the old album artwork. It was brilliant. Minimalism at its best. Marcel Duchamp and Dadaism at its best. Peep the old artwork below. The new artwork now features an orange square where the duck tape once was and nothing written. Also, if you haven't seen it yet peep my Kanye portrait below.

Mural at iSlide HQ

This past Saturday I had the opportunity to create a mural at the iSlide HQ using my signature vintage newspapers. iSlide allows users to upload their own artwork/text and create customs "slides" or flip-flops. Located outside of Boston, MA in an old refinished mill the iSlide HQ features beautiful exposed bricks, hardwood floors, and beams which is a perfect marriage with my vintage style. The wall is 12 ft x 12 ft and I utilized vintage Boston newspapers as well as more recent headlines including papers from when the Celtics and Red Sox won their championships. Here's a little teaser to hold you over before I drop the new video for this. #StayUpStayTuned

New Analog Piece, "Stay Up",

Here's the newest piece to my analog collection, "Stay Up." Was influenced by abstract geometric paintings and minimalism more specifically paintings by Kandinsky, Mondrian, and Matisse. I find this particular shape so fascinating and beautiful that it's actually tattooed on my arm. It's 36" x 40" x 2" with acrylic paint over vintage New York Times Newspaper and finished with 3 coats of matte varnish. You can cop' this beast on my Shop Page here.

Mural coming soon

Excited to announce that I'll be doing an indoor mural utilizing newspaper and cut-paper. The entire process is going to be documented and made into a really rad video. More details on this project coming soon. #StayUpStayTuned

New print, "Macklemore"

Here's my newest print, "Macklemore." When selecting a person to create a portrait of I look for someone that not only captivates an audience with their music, but also with their style and personality. I think Macklemore is a really unique and interesting cat. He embraces who he is and you can hear that in his music. I think his style is really interesting and super rad and it's an extension of his personality. Musically, his lyrical prowess speaks for itself. Everything I preach and believe in can be summed up by what makes Macklemore, well, Macklemore.  Peep the print below and enjoy. You can pick it up on the Shop Page here.

The Jazz Series

The Jazz Series was created for the company that licenses my artwork, Galaxy of Graphics LTD. The series includes two open edition lithograph prints, "Jazz Cafe" and "Cafe St. Jean". Both prints, seen below, are available on my Shop Page.
