I'm Real, Boy
I'm Real, Boy
Your favorite local celebrity told me I should be more humble. The good and the bad I’ve always been transparent about it all. I’ve put it all on display for you. When I talk about all the times I’ve been overlooked I’m too bitter, when I talk about my losses I’m too emo, but when I talk about how I got a Forbes feature I’m too cocky, so which is it? My entire existence has been humble. Sleeping in roach infested apartments. Being evicted. Sleeping in my car. Overdrawn bank accounts. Working every shitty job under the sun coming home exhausted and working on art until four in the morning. People in my family telling me to get a real job and sabotaging me behind my back. My business was started and 100% self funded by me. I’ve done it all. I’ve walked the walk and talked the talk. I’ve told you all about my losses. I’ve sacrificed fourteen years of my life for this. Can I celebrate myself once in awhile? Am I allowed to talk about my wins? I’ve given every ounce of my being to my art, there’s barely anything left for me. I’m just me. I’m real, boy. 🤹🏼♂️ “I’m Real, Boy.” 40” x 30” x 1.5” Paper, Graphite, Acrylic and Vintage Newspaper on canvas from my 2019 series, “Do Your Hear Me Now?”All original paintings come with a hand signed certificate of authenticity.
